50,000 new users in Swedish municipalities

Posted by Emmelie Hardenborg, filed under News.

There is a clear desire to improve IT security in Sweden’s municipalities. A number of projects are being launched under the aim of phasing out login with user names and passwords on computers, systems and applications.

SITHS cards, federations, platform shifts and the need for better and easier login for employees are key drivers behind this development.

SecMaker supplied Net iD software, which connects smart cards with underlying target systems to enable easy and secure login, even on tablets and in different operating systems.

Most of the municipalities are already using Net iD. But now card login is being given a significantly wider application. We appreciate the confidence and congratulate all of the new users who no longer have to log in with passwords.
