SecMaker announces partnership with Imprivata to give care providers fast, secure access to clinical applications and patient information
SecMaker, the leading supplier in the Nordic region of smart-card-based authorisation and security solutions that replace the use of username and passwords, today announced a partnership with Imprivata, the leading provider of authentication and access management solutions for the healthcare industry, to give healthcare professionals in the Nordics fast, secure access to clinical applications, which improves IT security and optimises clinical workflows.
According to SecMaker’s research, an average care provider loses the equivalent of about 200 working days in their lifetime due to slow and troublesome login workflows, leading to a significant loss of productivity and creating clinician dissatisfaction. This inefficiency can often be addressed, something that more and more healthcare providers in the Nordic region are beginning to discover.
SecMaker’s Net iD Enterprise and Imprivata OneSign® will enable care providers to optimise clinical workflows and simultaneously improve IT security. Those optimised clinical workflows allow the clinician to focus more on patient care and in turn improves clinician satisfaction.
A big challenge, particularly in healthcare, is the older platforms that do not have support for login with certificate and smart cards. Imprivata OneSign addresses this challenge with leading authentication and single sign-on solutions, which are currently used by more than 2.6 million healthcare end users globally.
The partnership gives the over 700,000 existing users across the Nordic region that already have a secure login with Net iD a simple single sign-on experience with only one PIN to any applications he or she is qualified, without compromising security.
Jaap van Noorden, EMEA business development director at Imprivata, said, “We are excited to partner with SecMaker to optimise clinical workflows and help care providers meet the challenges created by increasing security requirements. Our combined solution will facilitate fast, secure access to the tools and information clinicians need to increase productivity and remain focused on patient care.”
Niklas Anderson, SecMakers Managing director added, “Our combined solution really facilitates access to clinical desktops and applications that care providers use on a daily basis, often logging in and out up to 10 times a day. We’re excited to deliver time savings to these care providers with increased security.”
