Pointsharp and SecMaker merge

SecMaker has been developing the software Net iD during almost 20 years and has had the privilege of supporting large enterprises, authorities and health regions to integrate strong, fast and simple authentication technology. During the recent years we have been growing a little bit faster and are now ready to take our business further into a higher level.

Meanwhile as the number of cyberattacks increases and gets more difficult to deal with, the customers’ ability to build sufficiently strong solutions decreases. No one has, neither the skills, nor the time to operate and develop the required amount of IT security solutions in order to create a shield strong enough to resist attackers.

That is why a journey of change is taking place around us which originates from the customers' expectations to get the pieces together in a faster way. SecMaker has been using this possibility through large investments and development of a service-based offer that will make it easier for the customers to achieve adequate security.

After discussing for some time with our friends at Pointsharp we found that we shared the same values, have complementary products and the same goal. Pointsharp is backed by Main Capital that since a couple of years has an office in Stockholm. Meanwhile our talks were proceeding the pieces got together and we strongly believe the merge will benefit the customers of SecMaker even more. United we will become about 50 professionals in our area of expertise with many years of experience and we have our vision clear to become the leading European provider within identity- and access management.

The founders of SecMaker will stay working within the company which means business as usual concerning our customers. Shortly you will see the benefits of the merge through a broader product portfolio and the SecMaker Live iD service that enables European customers to get control of their access management and digital identity infrastructure without being forced to make expensive, complicated and time-consuming investments.

Niklas Brask (CEO - Pointsharp): “We are very happy to get the possibility to have SecMaker as a partner and together create a leading European group for IT security. SecMaker and Pointsharp are both based in Stockholm and we have a similar background and corporate culture. With Main Capital we share the vision of creating a leading European security provider.”

Niklas Anderson (CEO - SecMaker): “Never before have the threats towards the IT security been as many and as dangerous as of today. The need for strong security has escalated, especially the need to cease security systems based upon passwords. All IT systems and the whole business needs to get involved in the transition. Together with Pointsharp we now develop a complete offering that will enable IT managers the means to hinder most of the security threats.”

Charly Zwemstra (Managing Partner - Main Capital): ”The combination of Pointsharp and SecMaker creates a leading supplier of IT security software on the Swedish market with a great potential for future growth in north east Europe. The common product offering will strengthen the market position for both companies who share many common customers with complementary offers. Together with the management group of the combined Pointsharp group we will be continuing to work to create added value for the customers through expansion and further development of the product range. This will take place both through organic growth and acquisitions in the Nordics, the Benelux and the DACH.”
