The coworkers should not be responsible for the IT security
Relying on passwords for the IT security of the enterprise is in practice to transfer the responsibility to the coworkers. It will indeed mean an increase of risk. The intrusions that before mainly took place through breaching the corporate IT protections are now to a greater extent aiming towards to get hold of the logins of the coworkers. These are the words written by Niklas Andersson, CEO and founder of SecMaker.
In January an announcement from SÄPO (The Swedish Security Service) made clear that the number of IT attacks in Sweden had increased, both towards authorities and enterprises. Not less than 31 percent of the global companies report that they are under daily attack from cyber criminals. This is written in the annual report of Acronis concerning the global cyber threats. However, the unreported attacks are probably high as many organizations do not want to admit that they have been exposed. The Acronis report also warns of a continued increase in 2021, mostly targeting those who work from remote.
