SecMaker is a proud sponsor of the national youth team in goalball
The captain of the U19s national goalball team, Olof Ryberg, recently made his championship debut for the A-team when the World Championship was played in Malmö.
The Swedish men advanced to the quarter final, but unfortunately no further as Brazil went on to win the championship after defeating Germany in the final. Despite being the youngest not only in the Swedish team, but in the entire tournament, Olof had a lot of time playing goalball and was an important player both in attack and defence.
To the quarterfinals
- We asked Olof what can you say about the team's efforts?
"We are a very strong collective, where all six players are always necessary. It makes me incredibly proud that we succeeded in doing as well as we did against Brazil, where the players are full time professionals, and that we never stopped competing. But obviously, we wanted to get further than the quarter final in our own World Championship."
- What will you take with you to the national youth team and the next EC in November?
"Lots of experience and a fantastic zest for playing that I hope can rub off on the other lads. Also that no opposition is impossible and a great desire for a medal at the European Championships."
We wish the national youth team luck for the European Championship in the autumn!
