Secure login means more time for the patients
Advanced information technology was needed to free up more time for care, improve patient security and future-proof the hospital itself.
With safety challenges on the rise and users demanding simpler login routines, Södertälje Hospital was obliged to improve its IT security. Care staff were crying out for faster login procedures and simple processing because they were spending far too much time on this – time that would be better spent on the patients.
The hospital introduced an integrated security solution for login with strong authentication in the journal system and other important applications. The organisation had actually been using e-service cards since 2010, so the existing e-service card system was now combined with Net iD Enterprise from SecMaker.
The e-service card system served as the foundations for the hospital’s new holistic security solution. Today, care staff can take their e-service cards with them when they need to visit a different area, and then use them to connect quickly and easily to any workstation at all. This has freed up more time for patient care.
Today we can simply change user at a workplace or move between different workplaces. The time savings we make are hugely important for our patient.
